Easter morning and a young artist

This year the Easter Bunny (or as my genius Sis-in-law Alicia calls him/her, the EB) visited Weston! The EB visited last year, but our 4-week-old didn't really seem to know or care. This year, Weston was so excited and went straight to emptying his Easter basket one thing at a time.

He got jelly beans, Reeses' pieces, and some bathtub crayons. (These are no ordinary crayons. They are one of the most genius playthings ever invented - they come off with just a little water, and keep him entertained. So much so, in fact, that he didn't want to get out of the bath. ) Once the basket was completely empty, this was the first thing Wes did:

(Open this candy, Mom!)

As mentioned before, Weston is learning to draw with his crayons and has even written on the wall once with a pen. (No, Bryan, you didn't hear about this. I cleaned it up.) Tonight, I changed Weston's diaper, then walked away to grab him some pajamas. I came back to find THIS:

It's a good thing he wasn't wearing pants anymore. You can't even see the pen on his left leg, but I promise it was there. Luckily, when I was scrubbing his legs, rather than cry, he thought I was tickling him. I know I should have told him a firm no and grabbed the pen right away... but 1, I couldn't stop laughing, and 2, I HAD to get a picture. The faint ink that remains should be gone in a couple days.

Maybe our son will be an artist.

I am in LOVE with the idea of Weston finding the artist within. :) He's bound to be creative, I'm sure!

Glad you had a great Easter, and that the EB found you guys!

Cute Easter basket for Weston. I think every Artist has to start somewhere, and why not on yourself? Cute pictures! He's getting so big!
