Apparently we only make giant babies. Wes was in the 95th percentile for height at 2 months. Ethan is in the 97th. Basketball players, maybe?
Bryan's semester has been ridiculously busy and hard on him. I have never seen him get sick so often (I'm sure because of lack of sleep). Luckily, it is almost over! After this semester he will start studying for the GMAT, then applying to grad schools! He will get his Bachelor's next July, then we'll be off to who-knows-where.
Weston is in swimming lessons. Apparently swimming is good for asthma (increases lung capactiy), so I thought it would be a good idea. Wes agreed with me at first, and enjoyed his first lesson. His second lesson, he wouldn't get in the water. Hmmm... Hopefully that will change. The other thing he has enjoyed this summer is going to the zoo. I got a membership, and we have already gone several times.
I can barely believe that about 7 months ago, Wes hardly talked. He is now talking like a normal 3 year old, and making us laugh often. Recently Bryan mentioned that he would love to go to Miami for the NBA finals game. Weston cried out "No, Daddy! You can't go to 'Yourami'!" A couple days later Wes told me that Daddy was not going to "Hisami". The kid makes me smile every day. :)
My life is consumed in diapers and getting a nap when I can. In my spare time I have really been enjoying sewing. I finished my first patchwork quilt (with the help of my all-knowing-seamstress mother), and I'm ready for my next project!
(Note: That fabric that looks pink is actually red with white polka dots. My camera doesn't like close-up shots, even in macro mode. Bah.)
Ethan is such an easy, happy baby. He spends lots of time smiling, and has even slept through the night a few times already. (Not consecutively, but we'll take what we can get.)
Steve and Vivian moved to Idaho Falls! Finally, I had family nearby. And then they moved to Utah 2 months later. Wes had lots of fun with his cousins while it lasted. |
My family came for a visit last week. We went swimming, to Reed's Dairy for ice cream (a must!), and slapped each other around a bit. Ok, I slapped Joe around a bit. The little booger went and got taller than me! As his big sister, it is my job to keep him in his place. My mom and I did some sewing, and discussed mommy-ing. There were also many rounds played of The Great Dalmuti (I am the reigning Dalmuti!). As always, we were sad to see them go.
